2009 Import Capability Assignment Process - Step 6 and
7

Summary
The CAISO has posted the information required by Step 6 of
the Import Capability Assignment Process (CAISO Tariff Section 40.5.2.2.1). The
CAISO will also be sending to Scheduling Coordinators via e-mail the
information required by Step 7 on July 9, 2008

Text
The California ISO (CAISO) assigns import capability to Load
Serving Entities through their respective Scheduling Coordinators for
compliance with resource adequacy requirements for 2009 through a multi-step
process under CAISO Tariff Section 40.5.2.2.1. The CAISO has completed Steps 6
and 7.
Step 6 Requirement
CAISO posted on July 8 a document, entitled 2009 Assigned
and Unassigned RA Import Capability on Branch Groups into the CAISO Control
Area after Step 6, containing the following information:
- Total Import Capability
- Quantity in MW of Existing
Contracts and Transmission Ownership Rights assigned to each branch group
The aggregate quantity in MW of Pre-RA Import Commitments assigned to each
branch group and the holders of such Pre-RA Import Commitments
- Aggregate quantity in MW of
Available Import Capability by branch group after accounting for Existing
Contracts, Transmission Ownership Rights and Pre-RA Import Commitments

Step 7 Requirement
CAISO will send an email on July 9 to each Load Serving
Entity, through its respective Scheduling Coordinator, the following
information:
- The Load Serving Entity’s
Import Capability Load Share
- The Load Serving Entity’s
Load Share Quantity
- The amount of, and branch group
on which, the Load Serving Entity’s Existing Contract Import
Capability and Pre-RA Import Commitment Capability, as applicable, has
been assigned
- The Load Serving Entity’s
Remaining Import Capability
