On May 2, 2008, the CAISO hosted a public meeting that
reviewed various aspects of convergence (or virtual) bidding at ISO-New
England. At the request of several stakeholders involved in that discussion,
The California ISO (CAISO) will host an education forum to review the virtual
bidding experience at the Midwest ISO (MISO), July 23, 2008. Virtual bidding is
a feature that will be added to the CAISO markets within a year after MRTU start-up. A MISO staff
member will make a presentation and lead an extensive discussion of the virtual
bidding experience at MISO.
The purpose of this meeting is to examine:
- How market participants engage
in virtual bidding within another ISO market
- Key policy elements related to
this market feature
- How MISO allocates costs to
virtual bidders
- What policy features might be
relevant to the development of the CAISO’s policy on cost allocation
for virtual bidders.

posted to the CAISO website by close of business on July 16, 2008. Please RSVP to SMC@caiso.com by close of business on July 18,
2008.
