Summary
The CAISO filed with FERC on May 15 a petition for waiver of certain provisions of the CAISO Large Generator Interconnection Procedures (LGIP) to facilitate the transition to the GIPR. The CAISO has adjusted the overall schedule for the GIPR Initiative.

On May 15, 2008 the California ISO (CAISO) filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) a petition for waiver of provisions of the LGIP to facilitate the transition to the GIPR. This filing has been assigned FERC Docket No. ER08-960-000 and can be viewed at the following locations:
Since January 2008, the CAISO has been engaged in a stakeholder process to reform its current LGIP. This process is known as the GIPR initiative. The CAISO has adjusted the overall schedule for the GIPR initiative to accommodate further dialog between the CAISO and Stakeholders. The new schedule and details for stakeholder activities are as follows and supersede all prior CAISO Market Notices:
May 21, 2008 - Revised draft GIPR proposal posted by close of business
May 28, 2008 - Conference call to discuss the GIPR proposal (see details below)
May 30, 2008 - Draft GIPR Tariff language revisions to the CAISO Tariff posted by close of business
June 6, 2008 - Initial stakeholder comments on the draft GIPR Tariff language due by close of business (to guide the June 10 Stakeholder meeting agenda)
June 10, 2008 - Stakeholder meeting to discuss draft Tariff language (see details below)
June 17, 2008 - Final stakeholder comments on the GIPR Tariff language due by close of business
July 9, 2008 - GIPR proposal presented to CAISO Governing Board for approval
