Main Text
Recently the California ISO (CAISO) implemented a new CyberTrust Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), which issues digital certificates that identify users and devices with access rights to CAISO systems. On Friday, May 16, 2008 all certificates issued from our original Certificate Authority, Spyrus Basic_CA2, will expire and can no longer authenticate users and devices to CAISO applications. As such, we are requesting all users to validate that they have installed their reissued Cybertrust user and device certificates by Friday, May 16: Validation can be done by viewing the Issuer of your certificates. The Issuer should indicate “CAISO_Issuing_CA”. If you see that the issuer is “Basic_CA2”, you will need to import your new certificate, which would have been sent to you from CertRequest@caiso.com. If you need your certificates re-sent, or need your PIN re-sent, please send an email to CertRequest@caiso.com or contact the CAISO Help Desk at (888) 889-0450.
Please note that CAISO has sent several Market Notices and emails regarding these changes, however, we want to ensure that everyone is aware of this deadline. Following are the new Cybertrust root certificates which issued all new user and device certificates:
CyberTrust CAISO Root_CA Certificate: http://www.caiso.com/1c09/1c09f19a1c730.crt
CyberTrust CAISO Issuing_CA Certificate: http://www.caiso.com/1c09/1c09f14d14cf0.crt
Additionally, we would like to take the opportunity to clarify that all CAISO applications that require certificates for authentication are now using CMA (CAISO Multiple Application) certificates, with the exception of PIRP, OMAR and SRS. If you have any questions, please contact one of the individuals referenced below.
