Integrated Balancing Authority Areas Proposal

The CAISO will extend the due date for stakeholder comments on the CAISO’s Draft Final Integrated Balancing Authority Areas proposal to close of business April 28, 2008.

In a Market Notice on April 21, 2008, the California ISO (CAISO) requested stakeholder comments on its Draft Final Integrated Balancing Authority Areas (IBAA) Proposal regarding the modeling and pricing methodology of IBAA.  Based on requests from stakeholders, the CAISO will extend the due date for comments on the proposal to close of business Monday, April 28, 2008.

The CAISO MRTU program encompasses a comprehensive overhaul of the CAISO electricity markets designed to both enhance reliability and increase the efficient utilization of the transmission system.  As part of its larger effort to improve its ability to reliably manage congestion on the transmission system, the CAISO has identified needed improvements in modeling and pricing transactions to and from IBAA.
