Summary:  The CAISO has posted its Information Products and Services (IP&S) Project final status report to its website for stakeholder information and review.

Main Text:  In 2006, the CAISO conducted stakeholder interviews and solicited stakeholder feedback on potential new or enhanced CAISO information offerings to improve the way we share information with our stakeholders.  Based on the needs identified and ranked by stakeholders, CAISO developed the IP&S Project Final Plan to address the high-priority and frequently mentioned “quick hit” items that could be completed prior to Market Redesign and Technology Upgrade (MRTU) implementation. 

 

The CAISO has finalized the project and posted the IP&S Project Quarter 4, 2007 Final Status Report for stakeholder information and review at http://www.caiso.com/1f59/1f5992bd21a50.pdf. 

 

After MRTU is well established, no sooner than six months after implementation, the CAISO will initiate a new project to address changing stakeholder information needs. 

 

The IP&S project resulted in CAISO completion of a long list of enhancements requested by Market Participants, including, but not limited to, implementation of:

 

·         Market Participant Portal (MPP) limited release in August 2007 and broad implementation in December 2007 to streamline access to secure CAISO applications.

·         Non-Operational Generating Unit Report changes that remove outdated ownership information and consolidated outage information in September 2007. 

·         Website Enhancements including

o        Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds to enable users to stay abreast of certain documents CAISO publishes to its website in a simple and automated manner.

o        Updated Current Initiatives pages to ensure consistent level of information.

o        Improved search result relevance through new search tool and advanced search functionality. 

o        Streamlined access to Transmission Planning related stakeholder initiatives, previous planning activities, and Reliability Planning information.

·         New Market Notice Distribution System that enables receipt of HTML or Text formatted messages, facilitates subscription self-selection and processing, and greatly reduces the size of CAISO Market Notices and shortened Market Notice subject line.

·         Improved Board of Governors (BOG) Web-Posting Practice by making presentation materials available sooner.

·         Outage Reporting enhancements, including Real-Time Availability Management (RTAM) implementation in May 2007, which provided enhanced user interface and enabled broader use of Scheduling and Logging for ISO California (SLIC) Application Programming Interface (API).

·         Stakeholder Process and Interaction improvements to make meetings more consistent and ensure materials are posted well in advance.
