Thomas A. Page was appointed to the Independent System Operator Governing Board by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on February 2, 2007. Page is the former chairman of the board of Enova Corp. and San Diego Gas and Electric Company (SDGE). Prior to the holding company formation in 1996, Page was SDGE’s Chairman, President and CEO. Both of these companies are now part of Sempra Energy Corp., resulting from the strategic 1998 merger with Pacific Enterprises Corp. (Southern California Gas Co.) creating the largest customer based utility in North America. Page joined SDGE in 1978 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In 1981, he was elected President and Chief Executive Officer, and added the chairmanship in 1983. He held one or more of these positions until his retirement in 1998. Prior to joining SDGE, Page held executive positions at Gulf States Utilities in Beaumont, Texas, including Executive Vice President, Member of the Board, and President of its non-utility business operations. Earlier, he served as Treasurer and Controller of Wisconsin Power and Light in Madison, WI. Before entering the utility business, Page was employed as a Construction Engineer in the chemical industry. He was also a Structural Engineer for an engineering consulting firm and served as an Officer in the United State Air Force. Page earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and his Masters in Industrial Administration from Purdue University where he was awarded a Doctorate in Management in 1994. He has been licensed as a Professional Engineer and as a CPA. Page has been active in numerous industrial, community and statewide organizations. He is currently Director of SYS Technologies, American Innotek and Advisory Director of Sorrento Ventures. He has been Chairman of San Diego Regional Economic Development Corp., a Director of California Chamber of Commerce, the California Business Roundtable and Chairman of Cuyamaca Bank. He has previously been an elected trustee of Grossmont Union High School District and an elected County Board Supervisor in Dane County, Wisconsin. Page and his wife Evelyn, a graduate of Miami University of Ohio, live in El Cajon, California and have two children. |
