Grid Management Charge Types are monthly charges assessed on participating Scheduling Coordinators for the purpose of recovering all of the ISO s administrative and operating costs. These costs include, but are not limited to, startup, development and financing as well as the costs of ongoing operation and maintenance associated with the ISO s Control Area operator responsibilities. The Grid Management Charges (GMC) also includes costs associated with administering the scheduling, bidding, dispatch, and settlement of all Energy and Ancillary Services (A/S). The GMC rates are calculated as set forth in Section 8 of the ISO Tariff. The formula rate methodology will provide Market Participants with the financial security of predictable GMC pricing while ensuring that the ISO is able to recover its actual costs in a timely manner. These charges are shown as a monthly charge on the Preliminary Settlements and the Final Settlements Statements for the last day of each month. GMC charge details are provided in the daily GMC, Wheeling and Market Uplifts Detail File that itemize the hourly billable quantities for each charge.
